Corrado often teams with owners, architects and construction managers early in the design or conceptual stage of a project to evaluate potential sites. Corrado can help determine the optimum site layout, establish baseline project sequencing and scheduling, and suggest alternatives that provide the best value to the client. Cost and/or schedule reductions during this stage can be considerable and this pre-planning helps to streamline project construction by reducing design changes and delays during construction.

Corrado’s estimators bring experience, expertise and diligence when developing detailed and comprehensive estimates for clients. CMS’s estimators review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, define the scope of work along with clarifications and exclusions, obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, and generate a written proposal. Value engineering options are proposed. Conflicts, inconsistency, and other issues – along with potential cost-effective solutions – are also brought to the client’s attention for evaluation during this pre-construction stage.

Corrado provides project management services to clients, taking a contract-based approach. Project managers review the contract documents so the field can precisely execute the contract requirements. Corrado’s project managers work closely with clients to ensure scope and scheduling are understood and questions or concerns are addressed. Project managers also work with estimators, field superintendents, safety personnel, and the layout team to develop a comprehensive plan for the work with the focus on doing it safely and minimizing waste – both in time and money. During the planning stage, potential issues and obstacles can be identified and resolved in a timely manner, before they impact workflow, schedule and costs.

CMS’s Risk Management Department offers clients services that include safety and loss control, regulatory audits and compliance, and commercial insurance management. Corrado assists clients with establishing Zero-Accident cultures so as to protect the health and safety of their employees as well as keep their EMRs low. Establishing safety policies and procedures, employee orientation protocol, training programs and drug and alcohol programs, as well as providing resources to clients’ safety teams, are all ways in which we help our clients control injuries and property damage. In addition, Corrado works with clients to ensure they are compliant with all government regulations, including OSHA, DOT, DNREC, FMSA and DSWA.

Corrado’s HR services include recruiting new hires, establishing wellness programs, assessing benefits needs and trends, handling all benefit program administration and developing employee policies and procedures. A recent focus of the HR Department is workforce development. CMS has put into place multiple avenues for training and continuing education to increase the number of skilled workers in the construction field. CMS will also handle all compliance areas to ensure clients comply with all ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEOC and ERISA regulations among many others.

Corrado’s Business Development Department provides project lead tracking, CRM administration, website maintenance, event coordinating, social media oversight, jobsite photo shoots, and advertisement and logo design. CMS purchased a drone as well, which allows the team to take aerial photos of job sites to document their progress and capture work being performed from a different perspective.
